We wanted to give you all a deeper insight into the lovely team members here at Formedia and have decided to start with Kimberley, our Office Manager. Kim is one of the longest serving team members, having started seven years ago! Starting as an Account Manager, she now supports each department to ensure the smooth running of projects and manages the HR side of things.
Here’s how our conversations went:

How long have you worked at Formedia? Seven years!
What are your responsibilities? I manage the HR department and support new business development, whilst working closely with the marketing team to ensure the smooth running of projects. I also help the PR team when needed.
What did you do before working at Formedia? Since leaving University in 2007, where I studied PR and Management – I have worked in various PR, marketing and project management roles, including working for a production company and an e-learning company.
What is your most memorable/favourite client that you worked with and why? I’ve always had an interest in the not-for-profit sector, so have enjoyed working with two much-loved charities called the Primrose Foundation and Bowel Cancer West. I’ve also worked on several creative projects – a memorable one includes an off-the-wall, dubstep inspired music video for a coffee machine distributor. The romantic in me has also enjoyed working with Holne Park House, a beautiful wedding venue in Ashburton.
What advice would you give to someone looking to work in the PR and Marketing sector? Having experience is very important when applying for jobs, so whilst studying, try and approach companies to see if you can support their PR and/or marketing team in some capacity. It’s important to stand out when you eventually apply for your first job, and showing you have some experience under your belt would be a great help.
What do you enjoy doing in your own time? I love spending time with my family, and spend most weekends exploring beaches and going for walks with my partner Chris and our four-year-old son, Oscar. We have a crazy Boxer dog called Digby, who is full of mischief but very fun!
I also enjoy cooking and baking with Oscar – and when I get the chance, I love to read books – especially those recommended by Sophie, our PR Manager!
