10 Apr Five minutes with Kayleigh, our PR and Marketing Executive.

Welcome to Formedia! What do you think is a positive attribute you’ll bring to the team?
Thank you, I’m excited to be here! I’m joining an already highly motivated and experienced team, I like to think that I can bring my own unique ideas and creativity.

Can you describe yourself in one word?
Creative

What kind of role/s have you previously worked in?
My previous roles have had a prominent B2C focus with some B2B. From luxury organic food to a visitor destination with a focus on local craft and high-end retail, I’ve been lucky enough to work for some prestigious businesses that have an ethical and inspirational brand message.

What do you enjoy most about working within the industry?
I love that this industry is never repetitive, every single day brings something new. With every new challenge there are endless possibilities, there are so many outcomes, restricted by imagination only.

Why did you choose a career in the industry / what excites you the most!?
I studied Journalism at University and benefitted from a programme that gave students the freedom to look beyond traditional journalism. I fell in love with PR & marketing modules that focused on creative content writing and visual design. I was hooked! After Uni I was lucky enough to work for businesses that wanted me to just jump straight in! The pure diversity of PR & Marketing excited me the most, no project is ever the same and I value the opportunity to combine my passion for creativity with strategy. Every action has a goal – I love coming up with an exciting project that delivers results.

Do you have any favourite digital marketing campaigns?
It’s not easy to pick a favourite but I really like digital campaigns that are slightly out of the ordinary. I think that WWF’s #LastSelfie Snapchat campaign was something to be impressed by. I love that WWF used the platform’s medium to reflect the message. The result was very successful, not only did it raise funds, but it also achieved an impressive amount of exposure.

What are you most excited about achieving in your position at Formedia?
I’m really looking forward to working with a creative team where ideas can be shared and developed. I really want to develop my existing skills and learn from the best in the industry and they are right here at Formedia!

What do you enjoy doing whilst you are not at work?
Good food is my weakness! I love cooking but most of all I love eating. I really enjoy discovering new places to eat in the stunning locations that region has to offer. I also have a bit of an artistic streak, or at least I like to think so… I’m always creating or making something – I’ve had a go at sketching, painting, watercolours, jewellery making, textile work and dress making. I’ve even had a go at restoring furniture!

What are you passionate about?
My true passion is photography – the idea of capturing a moment in time, whatever the occasion, is something truly amazing. I like to experiment with colour, light and composition.

What brands/campaigns inspire you?
I’m inspired by brands such as Abel & Cole that have a clear brand message and identity. Abel & Cole’s campaigns do much more than offer a food box scheme – campaigns heavily feature creative visual content to inspire, highlight the ethical message and elevate the business to a pioneer in its category.
